We deliberately use a variety of carefully selected stallions in our breeding programme for improvement and to inject modern successful bloodlines into the NZ PRE population. This includes using high quality Qualified (Calificado) sires from Spain, many of whom have had top competitive dressage careers.   

 

Gotico Park Escamillo - Imp Aus         At Stud

Our proven foundation stallion, Gotico Park Escamillo, was imported from Australia in 2005, chosen for his type, temperment and bloodlines. A multi -champion in hand, and one of very few horses alive to receive the Champion Progeny Roll of Merit Award, AHAA.


Gotico Park Escamillo produces good quality pure and partbred riding and sport horses, especially for dressage, who are known for their great temperments and movement.


For dressage ability, we produce PREs with a concentrated quality dam line from Hortelano VII, a famous former dressage champion, breeding Escamillo with two of our mares.

Corban Distinguido - Imp US

Our future stud prospect, Corban Distinguido, we bred from a Fuego de Cardenas brother (owned and competed by Hampton Green Farms), importing him from the US in utrero in 2009. His dam, Carmen HGF, has several successful brothers and sisters in the US and Europe. Both his sire and his dam's sire and dam were bred in Spain.


With highly sought-after performance bloodlines including Yeguada Marin Garcia, and movement to match, he is shaping up to be an important sire for our future breeding programme.

With imported frozen semen purchased from Spain, UK and the US, Corban Iberians benefit from top quality Qualified (Calificado) sires from Spain in our breeding programme including:


  • Dominante XXIX           Progeny - Corban Filósofo, the 1st Dominante XXIX foal in Australasia
  • Impaciente III                 Progeny to come - foal due November 2014 (pre-purchased)
  • Habanero XLI                Progeny to come - first planned for 2015

Many of these sires have proven themselves both as fine examples of the PRE, with national championship titles, and as top dressage competitors at a national level.
